How much does grab hire cost?
It depends on the lorry and the material, and it is quoted per load over the phone. Send us a photo and we will give you a firm price for the whole job, with nothing added afterwards.
Is a mini grab cheaper than an eight-wheeler?
Per load, yes. It carries less, so it costs less. If you have more than nine tonnes the eight-wheeler is usually the better value because it takes it in one visit.
Is grab hire cheaper than a skip?
For soil, hardcore and rubble it usually is. A grab load holds what three eight-yard skips hold once weight is taken into account, there is no permit, and you do not spend a day loading it.
Are there any extra charges?
No. The price per load covers loading, transport, tipping and the waste transfer note. The only thing that changes a price is finding something in the pile that we were not told about.
Do you charge for a wasted journey?
If the lorry arrives and cannot get to the pile, or the pile is not what was described, a charge can apply. It is why we ask for a photo and a description of the access first.
